Roles: Mental Health Clinician
Contract: Part-time and full-time roles available (0.5FTE -1 FTE) | Multiple permanent oppertunities
Hours: The Crisis Stabilisation Centre is a 24/7 service; all Clinician Staff will be rostered on a rotational roster.
Shift preferences will be considered, by not guaranteed to ensure fairness to all employees.

About the Role:
The Mental Health Clinician is a key clinical role within the Crisis Stabilisation Centre (CSC), contributing to the broader continuum of care within the Integrated Crisis Support Hub. The Mental Health Clinician works as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver focused crisis support, assessment, and evidence-based interventions for individuals experiencing mental health distress and/or crisis. They work in close collaboration with the Allied Health Lead, Nursing Lead, Peer Lead, Peer Practitioners and Service Manager to ensure that high-quality, person-centred clinical care is integrated meaningfully into all aspects of service delivery.
The Mental Health Clinician is responsible for ensuring guests receive timely, compassionate, and clinically sound support, and for championing a recovery-oriented approach that fosters hope, self-determination, and meaningful connection to ongoing care.
This role operates under direction and plays an important part in the overall service delivery and integration of clinical practice within the multidisciplinary team. The Mental Health Clinician may be expected to act as shift coordinator in the absence of senior staff.
Experience Requirements:
Minimum of two (2) years' relevant professional development and/or supervision within the area of mental health.
Experience in the delivery of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and other evidence-based interventions.
Experience in assessing and treating clients with a range of mental health and/or alcohol and other drug problems.
Experience working within a fast-paced environment.
Experience in shift coordination is desirable.
Experience in crisis care settings is desirable.
Qualification and Other Requirements:
Qualified in one of the following disciplines with membership to the associated professional body: Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, or Mental Health Nursing.
Current Working with Children Check and National Police Clearance.
Current Child Safe Environments (Through Their Eyes) training.
Credentialing requirements
Psychologist / Clinical Psychologist:
Approved Masters or equivalent in psychology, with two (2) or more years of experience in clinical mental health settings, preferably community based.
Registered as a psychologist with AHPRA. Clinical Psychologists must hold practice endorsement with the Psychology Board of Australia in the specialist area of clinical psychology.
Social Worker
Accredited as a Mental Health Social Worker with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW), with two (2) or more years of experience in clinical mental health settings.
Occupational Therapist
Registered with AHPRA, holding an approved degree from a recognised School of Occupational Therapy, with two (2) or more years of experience in clinical mental health settings, preferably community based.
Current registration with one of the following professional bodies:
Social Workers – Registered member or eligible for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
Psychologists – Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
Occupational Therapists – Registered with the Australian Association of Occupational Therapists (OT) and AHPRA, with Mental Health Endorsement recognised by Occupational Therapy Australia
