About the Role:
The Peer Practice Lead is a key lived experience leadership role within the Integrated Crisis Support Hub, inclusive of the Northern Adelaide Medicare Mental Health Centre and the Crisis Stabilisation Centre, contributing to the broader continuum of care. The role primarily leads the Immediate Access Care (IAC) Peer Practitioner team, providing supervision, mentoring, and leadership to peer staff.
Drawing on their own lived experience, the Peer Practice Lead champions and embeds peer practice across the service, working collaboratively with clinical and service leaders to ensure lived experience perspectives are integrated into care.
The Peer Practice Lead foster a safe and empowering environment for the peer workforce, advocate for guest voices, and support the coordination and operation of the Safe Haven and Northern Adelaide Medicare Mental Health Centre programs.
Operating under broad direction, this role plays a key part in leadership, service delivery, and the integration of peer practice within the multidisciplinary team.

Experience Requirements:
Personal lived experience of mental health challenges, recovery, and/or substance use, and the ability to draw on this experience purposefully and safely in a professional context.
Minimum of two (2) years’ experience working in a peer practice, lived experience, or peer support worker role.
Experience providing lived experience practice supervision or mentoring to peer workers.
Experience in a leadership, coordination, or senior peer practice role is highly desirable.
Experience working within a multidisciplinary mental health team and contributing to integrated, consumer-centred service delivery.
Experience in mental health, crisis care, community services, or a related sector.
Experience in quality improvement, service evaluation, and contributing to policy and practice development.
Qualification and Other Requirements:
Current or willing to obtain a Working with Children's Check (WWCC)
Current or willing to obtain a National Police Check (NPC)
Certificate IV in Peer Work or equivalent qualification with demonstrated experience in a lived experience, Peer Practitioner, or Peer Support Worker role r willingness to obtain
Certificate IV in Mental Health or a related field is desirable.
Postgraduate qualification in an area related to mental health and/or lived experience practice is desirable.
