About the Role:
The Comorbidity Clinician - Partners Toward Wellbeing, will work as part of the Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) teams to deliver focused psychological interventions for individuals with mental health and substance use disorders (comorbidity) in a primary care setting.
The Comorbidity Clinician will be responsible for:
working as part of a multidisciplinary team of AOD Workers, Comorbidity Clinicians, and AOD Peer Support Workers at Edinburgh North / Port Adelaide, through the Partners Toward Wellbeing Consortium
delivering evidence-based interventions to assist with the management of co-occurring, or comorbid, AOD and mental health conditions
Providing integrated treatment services to individuals presenting with harms related to AOD substance use and co-occurring mental health concerns
Planning and implementing assessment and treatment services
Liaison and consultation with Peer Practitioners, other Sonder AOD and MH programs, services within the Community Services portfolio, General Practitioners, and other professional employees
Group program development and implementation where appropriate and necessary
Participation in individual and group supervision, and attendance at team meetings and external meetings.
Experience Requirements:
A minimum of 2 years supervised therapeutic and clinical experience in the area of AOD and/or Comorbidity (AOD & MH).
A minimum of 2 years relevant professional development and /or supervision.
Experience in delivery of evidence based AOD & MH interventions such as cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, recovery orientated interventions, and harm minimisation interventions
Experience in care coordination in an AOD, Mental Health and/or Primary Care Setting
Demonstrated experience working within a fast-paced environment
Qualification and Other Requirements:
Current Drivers Licence
Current or willing to obtain a Working with Children's Check (WWCC)
Current or willing to obtain a National Police Check (NPC)
Current Child Safe Environments (Through Their Eyes) Training.
Applicants must hold qualifications in one of the following disciplines:
Psychology
Social Work – with Mental Health Accreditation through the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
Occupational Therapy – with Mental Health Endorsement recognised by Occupational Therapy Australia
Nursing – must be a Registered Nurse with Credentialed Mental Health Nurse status through the Australian College of Mental Health Nurses
OR
A Tertiary Qualification in health, welfare, social or behavioural science with demonstrated extensive advanced practice experience or knowledge in the minimum core competencies from the CHCSS00093 Alcohol and Drug Skill Set
